WECAN! stands for "Working for Environmental Community Action Now!" We aim to support and enable communities to take action to improve their environment.

WECAN! supports, encourages and sustains the involvement of people, and their communities in environmental community action and awareness-raising. In so doing, we seek to improve people's quality of life and their influence over their environment.

If you have an environmental community action project with which you would like support, please get in touch with us! You can contact us through the "Food for Fife" Project office.

"Food for Fife" has been the main project of WECAN! during the past several years. This project supports local community groups in establishing new food initiatives which are aimed at tackling inequalities in diet and health. We look at ways of addressing availability and affordability of healthy, local food, and developing the skills and food culture which support a healthy diet.

"Food for Fife" is funded by a grant from the Big Lottery Fund. The project began in May 2004 and will continue through March 2009. Subject to additional funding we hope to continue into the future for many years to come!
